Can Donahue Pull off the come-from-behind victory in School board race?

While Andre Stewart enjoys a healthy lead in the race for Benicia school board the second seat is still up for grabs with Gary Wing  holding a 145 vote lead over Matt Donahue and a 477 vote lead over incumbet Bonnie Weidel after the absentee votes were counted.  While not nearly as close as the vote in the mayor’s race this one is also still too close too call.

Looking at history again, in 2001 when Dan Smith won his seat on the city council he was down by about 400 votes when the absentees were posted but still managed to make a comeback.  Donahue sent me a text a few minutes ago that said, “We’re crossing our fingers.  Hopefully lots of votes today!”
