Have a chocolate party, but make it raw chocolate please!

I was wired for sound when I left a chocolate party and I had side effects for days after indulging. It's raw chocolates for me from now on.

This weekend, I reminded myself why I rarely eat highly processed foods made of refined flour, especially those baked with refined sugar and dairy products. I went to a chocolate party. I was excited to meet other chocolate lovers and make some friends, and eat chocolate. For the party, I made raw brownies and raw manuka honey cups with a cacao bean in the middle. At the party, I ate all kinds of things that I don’t normally eat. I started with a cream pie with a chocolate wafer crust and a layer of mouse. Next, a very dense cake with dried fruits and a layer of chocolate poured over the top, then a cluster of chocolate melted over nuts and dried cherries. By the time I got to the slice of simple chocolate cake, with a dusting of powdered sugar, my taste buds were not working so great. Last stop, the biscotti, which everyone was raving about, I couldn’t taste anything at that point, so I stopped there. The partiers were very interested in the attributes of raw cacao and I received great feedback on my raw cacao treats. I came home wired for sound and jumped on a trampoline for a while. I went to bed and my heart was racing from the chocolate with sugar and dairy products. The next day, I was still intensely wired, then, the crash came. I had an afternoon nap. I didn’t feel well at all and I was sore from head to toe. I never did get my full energy back that day. The ‘healthy’ in chocolate is not in what it is added to, it’s the chocolate itself, as in the raw cacao. If you’re going to party with chocolate, I suggest party with raw chocolate!
