The Junior View: Blog Numero Uno

Just the incoherent blog of a sixteen-year-old trying to get her thoughts across.

Well, here goes.

Hello any and every Benician reading.

So, I guess I’ll just start by introducing myself because, though it’s not much fun and oh-so unoriginal, I’d feel quite out of place just diving straight into blogging without laying down a bit of background information first.

My name’s Digne Glatzel (pronounced like deen-yuh, weird I know), I’m a junior at Benicia High, and I’ve been given this grand opportunity to just do some really laid-back blogging for the Benicia Patch. Even though this year will probably be the most stressful of my high school years with AP classes, yearbook, and a few side jobs, I didn’t want to pass up this blogging opportunity. Taking more chances- it's a thing I've been trying out. Besides, it’s just a fun little blog meant for entertainment, and, stuff.

Honestly, I’ve no idea how this will turn out because, from what few experiences I’ve had so far, it seems that nothing really ever turns out how you first expect it to. With that being said, I am a very, very open-minded person. Anything anyone tells me I’ll take into consideration and I never ever get too attached to any one idea or way of thinking. So, I’m very open to any ideas on what this blog should become and I’m sure I’ll jump around and try a few new things out once in a while.

Mainly, though, photography and writing. My two biggest passions. And I think I’ll mostly stick to those. Maybe a couple videos, who knows.

So far though I'm thinking I'll have a simple photo blog of Benicia every day life - stopping for a second to capture a moment that most others would just pass by. And a little writing blog about teenage life. Write what you know, right?

Which brings me to my next point which is that I, honestly, am not a stereotypical teenager: quite the opposite, really. Which probably doesn't make me the most ideal candidate to report on teenage life. I’m not a big partier, nor am I hung up on social life, and things like drama and relationships aren’t quite what I revolve my life around. But, having said that, I still am a teenager and I do hear things and know things, and I’ll be determined to ask others’ opinions on subjects I feel ill-equipped to talk in depth about. Because who wants to hear about a teenager who spends her weekends at Starbucks studying, right?

So, yeah. That’s about it for now. Let me know what kind of things you’d like to see covered. And stay tuned for next time to see what’s in store for this ‘lil ol' blog! Because, quite frankly, I’m interested to see what’s in store, myself.
