Consecutive Overnight Freeway Closures Slated For I-80 In Vallejo

Westbound lanes will be closed the first night and all eastbound lanes will be closed the second night.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Caltrans has scheduled full overnight closures for two consecutive nights next week on Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo.

I-80 will be completely closed in one direction at a time as crews work to increase the clearance of the Magazine Street Overcrossing as part of the I-80 Six Bridges Project.

From 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, all lanes of westbound I-80 will be closed between the I-780 interchange to the north and the SR-29 interchange to the south. Then, from 11:59 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday, all lanes of eastbound I-80 will be closed between SR-29 and I-780.

During the freeway closures, the eastbound and westbound I-80 on-ramps in Vallejo will be closed as needed to keep the construction zone safe for workers and for the public. Detour signs will be posted.

During the overnight closure Wednesday night and Thursday morning, drivers traveling westbound on I-80 will need to access I-780 to State Route 29 — Sonoma Boulevard — to Magazine Street back onto westbound I-80 on-ramp.

During the overnight closure Thursday night and Friday morning, those traveling eastbound on I-80 will need to take State Route 29 (Sonoma Boulevard) to I-780 to eastbound I-80.
