D'Agustino Named Solano County Public Defender

SOLANO COUNTY – By a unanimous vote of the Solano County Board of Supervisors, Elena D'Agustino has been appointed to serve as the new public defender for Solano County. D'Agustino has been serving as the interim public defender since February, and was selected to fill the role on a permanent basis following an extensive recruitment, county officials said in a news release.

D'Agustino earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She went on earn her juris doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in New York.

She began her career as an attorney in California in 1997 and has worked in the Solano County Public Defender's Office since January 1998.
