Dog Found Chained At Cemetery In Solano County: Report

A good Samaritan found the dog tied up to a cemetery fence and turned it into the Humane Society of the North Bay.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A dog found tied up to a fence at a Vallejo cemetery Saturday is now recovering with the help of the Humane Society of the North Bay and a local veterinarian. The dog — now named Cemy for where he was found — remained in the care of the humane society this week.

“This particular dog was found chained to the cemetery in Sacramento Street with an electrical cord with no food and no water,” Humane Society Board Member Shamus Thornton said.
And it gets worse.
“He did not have enough slack in the cord even to lay down,” Thornton said.
No one knows how long the dog has been abandoned.

The vet told KRON4 that "despite the mistreatment, the dog was not timid or aggressive."

Humane Society officials expect Cemy may be ready for adoption to a loving home by Friday, Jan. 26, KRON reports.
