Drought tip from BHEP: Let the rain do its job!

Adjust your irrigation controllers so you are not watering during the rain!

We have been getting a lot of rain recently, and even more is in the forecast. Woohoo! In the event of rain, it’s a good idea to suspend all outdoor watering for at least 48 hours.

If your irrigation controller or timer hasn’t already been switched to the off position, now is a good time to do it. You don’t want to be that house in your neighborhood that has sprinklers going during the rain!

If you need assistance locating and adjusting your irrigation controller or timer, contact the Benicia Home Efficiency Program! We are here to provide you with in-home energy and water evaluations, as well as help make adjustments to your outdoor irrigation system.
