Earth Day Volunteers Needed - Benicia State Recreation Area

April Earth Day Event at the Benicia State Recreation Area. Volunteers needed.

Meet new people and help the State Park by volunteering:

Saturday, April 16, 201618th Annual Earth Day Event

Benicia State Recreation Area

Location/Directions: Meet at the Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden. 1 State Park Road, Benicia, CA 94510. From Interstate 780 West, exit Columbus Parkway. Turn left onto Rose Drive. Turn right into the park. From Interstate 780 East, exit Columbus Parkway. Turn left into the park. The Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden is about one mile from the park entrance, west of the picnic area.

Check-In Time: 8:30 a.m.

Project Time: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Projects: Plant native trees, shrubs, and perennials in Coastal Sage Scrub and Chaparral areas, mulch new plants, remove non-native plants in garden area and along pathways, and repair split rail fence bordering the garden

Registration: Register on or before April 13 at http://www.calparks.org/help/earth-day/
