Man Who Shot Pregnant Ex-Girlfriend In Head Sought: Hunt Renews

Reward of $10K offered for NorCal suspect, Ricardo Colindres, 28, with ties to Brisbane, Lodi, Burson, Pacifica and Vegas, officials said.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA –The U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Pacifica Police Department issued a renewed call for information to help find a suspect wanted for allegedly shooting his pregnant ex-girlfriend in the head in 2016 in Pacifica.

Ricardo Colindres, 28, a former transient from Brisbane, reportedly was last seen driving away from the Casa Pacifica apartment complex just after 8 a.m. on April 27, 2016, leaving the victim, 25, who was eight months pregnant, shot in the head, police said.

An arrest warrant exists for Colindres for two counts of suspicion of attempted murder and attempted kidnapping, police said. The U.S. Marshal's Service added him to its Northern California Most Wanted list and is offering a $10,000 reward for his capture.

“We are continuing to investigate this case to the fullest extent possible,” said Don O’Keefe, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of California. “We feel that Colindres still being at large is unacceptable, and we encourage the public to assist us in locating and safely apprehending him.

"The victim in the case deserves justice and closure, which she is being denied every day he remains on the streets. For her sake, and the sake of public safety, we implore those with any knowledge of him or his possible whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.”

On the day of the shooting, witnesses reported hearing Colindres arguing with the victim that morning just before a gunshot and screaming, police said. He quickly was identified as a suspect, and police asked the public to be on the lookout for him or his 2003 silver Toyota Camry, that had a California license plate number 6CGN644. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Colindres has family in Brisbane, as well as in the Lodi and Burson areas, and also is believed to frequent Las Vegas, police said. He was described as Hispanic, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

The gun used in the crime was never recovered, the Marshal’s Service said.

Anyone with information on Colindres' whereabouts is asked to call the Marshal’s Tipline at 1-800-336-0102 or the Pacifica Police Department at 650-738-7314. Colindres is considered armed and dangerous, and if seen, citizens should call 911, police said.
