Ask almost any artist how long they've been making art, and many will respond that they have been active artists since they could hold a crayon, colored pencil or paintbrush. Arts Benicia and local schools have collaborated to bring that art into the gallery for the entire community to enjoy with the Next Generation exhibition. Artwork included in the exhibit was created by children ages K-8 residing or attending school in Benicia, from independent children's art groups as well as students attending Mary Farmar, Robert Semple, Matthew Turner, Saint Dominic's and Benicia Middle School.
The Next Generation is dedicated to Madeline Seely, Benicia Middle School student and artist, who loved art and passed away unexpectedly in 2010.
