The Benicia Old Town Theatre Group is holding open auditions for its April 22- May 14 production of the comedy, "The Nerd," by Larry Shue, directed by Clinton Vidal. Wanted in the cast are four men, ages 20-45 years, two women ages 20-45, and one 8-year-old child. Actors should come to the auditions with a one- to three-minute comedic monologue or prepared reading, and have fun.
There will be two days of auditions: Sunday, Feb. 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. Callbacks are on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The play is about a young architect who is visited by a man he never met but who saved his life in the military - the visitor turning out to be an incredibly inept, hopeless, stupid "nerd," who outstays his welcome with a vengeance.
