Classic oil painter Catherine Fasciato is the August featured artist at the Benicia Plein Air Gallery, 307 First Street, in downtown Benicia. The public is invited to a reception featuring her new plein air landscapes “Illusions” on Saturday, August 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Fasciato captures a fleeting moment in time and makes it her own.
Housed in an historic building, the cooperative gallery shows the outdoor paintings of 14 local oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel artists Thursday to Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
