League of Women Voters Program

Each month the League of Women Voters, Benicia provides an evening program for the public to attend and learn about issues, the initiatives, County and City government and other programs of interest. Speakers come from all areas of government and different organizations.  There is always a question and answer period and always yummy goodies and liquid refreshments.  Everyone is invited to attend.

On September 20th at the Cal Maritime Academy auditorium, the League, along with AAUW, Sproptomists, Benicia PUblic Schools, Vallejop Public Schools and the Maritime Academy will present "Miss Representation", the movie.  Written and produced by Jennifer Siebold Newsom, it demostrates how women are undervalued in the press and therefore under represented in government and business.  A panel afterwards of young and old, searching for answers and solutions.

On Saturday, Ocotber 13, the League will present an initiatives forum, highlighting some of the more interesting initiatives.
