The event will feature celebrated guitarist Eddie Duran and saxophonist Madeline  Duran in a quartet setting. The concert will take place at Step Up Music.

“We are very excited to get Mad & Eddie”, said Rob Michael, a VJS spokesperson and respected guitarist in his own right.   Michael continued, “Eddie Duran’s career encompasses the entire history of jazz guitar; he has played with everyone from George Shearing to Charlie Parker to San Getz. And Mad’s lyrical style is the perfect complement to Eddie’s unique approach. These two are an integral and much-loved component of the Bay Area jazz scene”.

A not-for-profit organization formed in September of 2010, the Vallejo Jazz Society’s mission is to heighten awareness of jazz in Vallejo and nearby communities by sponsoring concerts throughout the year at various local venues. The organization will also provide jazz-related educational  resources such as concerts and clinics in local schools.

Tickets for the concert are $10 ($5 for VJS members) and may be purchased at the door. Light refreshments will be provided. Donations to support the Society’s activities will be accepted and VJS memberships will be available.
