Fatal Hit-And-Run: Benicia Police Identify Type Of Car Involved

BENICIA, CA — Benicia police detectives have identified the type of car involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision last month in the city. Benicia resident Sharon DeLamore, 70, struck at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 in the 1000 block of East 5th Street, according to the Benicia Police Department.
Emergency personnel rushed DeLamore to a hospital but she died from her injuries.
"Our investigators have been working tirelessly to find the driver responsible for the hit and run ever since," Benicia PD officials said this week in a statement posted to social media.

"After enhancing video footage of the suspect vehicle, our detectives have identified the vehicle as a red mid-1990s Ford Thunderbird, similar to the one depicted in this picture."
Benicia police are asking anyone with information or tips in the case to call the police department's non-emergency line at 707-745-3411. Those wishing to leave an anonymous tip can do so by calling the Solano Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 707-644-STOP (7867).

Tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward through Solano Crime Stoppers, with additional funds from the Benicia Police Officers’ Association and the Benicia Dispatchers Association, police said.
