Fatality Reported In Benicia Freeway Crash

BENICIA, CA — At least one person has died following a solo-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate Highway 780 in Benicia on Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the collision was first reported at 8:45 p.m. just east of the East Second Street on-ramp. Officers arrived to find a vehicle off the roadway, and one victim who died at the scene.

Lanes were closed as the CHP investigated the collision. The roadway was cleared around 11:54 p.m.
