Finally, We Can Buy Socks in Benicia

New store opened its doors on January 18.

When the City Council was considering commercial development as part of the Seeno project, a common complaint voiced by citizens was that you couldn’t  buy socks or underwear in Benicia.  With the opening of the Dollar Plus Store located in the Parkway Plaza shopping center socks are now available and if the demand is there, owner Bob Singh will stock tighty-whities too.

The neat, well lit store carries a wide range of items from basic household tools to wrapping paper,  personal hygiene products and cleaning supplies.

Singh plans to bring in a cooler for soda pop and other drinks and if you need some chips or candy he’s got that covered too.

“We want feedback from customers so we can better fulfill their needs,” said Singh as he took time out from training a new cashier to walk around his store.  Asked if plans on carrying underwear, he looked around, then pointed to a wall area with no display fixture and said he thought he and his staff could make room for more inventory.
