Fire At Commercial Building In Vallejo: Authorities
The blaze imperiled residences above the scene, authorities said.

VALLEJO, CA — A fire Monday afternoon at a commercial building in Vallejo threatened nearby homes, according to authorities.
The fire occurred in the 1700 block of Sonoma Boulevard, where a dumpster was ablaze inside an interior trash collection area, imperiling residences above the scene, according to the Vallejo Fire Department.
“Quick response and fire attack prevented fire spread and limited damage to a small area of the building,” the department said in a Facebook post.

Sonoma Boulevard was closed between Virginia and Georgia streets during the response, according to a tweet around 2 p.m. from the Vallejo Firefighters Association.
“The Vallejo Fire Department reminds our community that burning or smoldering items such as cigarette butts should never be discarded into a trash receptacle unless they are 100% extinguished,” the department said in the post.
