Breaking: Firefighters have been on the scene at a building just off Sonoma Boulevard since around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A three-alarm structure fire was burning Tuesday morning in a vacant Vallejo building that has been frequented by squatters, the Vallejo Fire Department reported. The blaze was reported at about 7 a.m. at Sutter and York streets, just off of Sonoma Boulevard in southwest Vallejo across from Mare Island.
The two-story building has burned before, according to the fire department. Video from the scene showed the second story of the building fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were taking a "defensive" approach to the fire, an official said.
The fire caused the building's roof to collapse, news footage from the scene showed.
