Fire-Fighting Goats Are Ba-a-a-a-a-ack!
Critters from Goats-R-Us will help to keep vegetation at bay in wildfire-prone areas.
BENICIA, CA – Ever-ravenous goats are once again doing humans a favor by munching vegetation in Benicia as part of the city's wildfire-management plan.
The animals are from Goats R Us, a company that rents out specially selected breeds of goats for grazing in fire-prone areas.
Herders will move them throughout the city -- particularly at open-space areas with challenging topography that are at high-risk for fire -- for an indefinite period of time, the Benicia Fire Department announced

Goats are only one component of the city's vegetation-management program. Other elements include discing of open spaces and creating firebreaks, fire trails and fire-access roads.
