First "Chefs in the Garden" series at First & D St. Garden , Thurs. June 23rd. 6PM Free-Beyond Basil-Alternatives to Pesto
Enjoy the Farmers' Market and stop by for an hour of inspiration. A lucky winner will receive the "Salvage Chef Cookbook."
Chef Stephanie (see Bio on Benicia Community Garden's "Our People" page) will make 3-4 different pesto (one with fruit), from various greens, herbs and cheeses and nuts. She'll talk about the basic formula for making up your own pesto, and what to "taste for" when balancing the flavors. Samples will be provided.
