Full Overnight Closures Of I-80 Coming Up In Vallejo

I-80 will be completely closed in one direction at a time for two consecutive nights as Caltrans works on the Magazine Street overcrossing.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo will be completely closed in one direction at a time for two consecutive nights as crews work to increase the vertical clearance of the freeway overcrossing at Magazine Street.

The first full overnight closure will take place on westbound Interstate 80 in Vallejo from 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, until 4 .m. Thursday, July 29. The next night, a full overnight closure will take place on eastbound Interstate 80 in Vallejo from 11:59 p.m. Thursday, July 29, until 5 a.m. Friday, July 30.

"During the I-80 closures, eastbound or westbound I-80 onramps in Vallejo will be closed as needed to facilitate the work safely," Caltrans District 4 Spokesperson Pedro Quintana said. "Detour signs will be posted."

Westbound/Eastbound I-80 Detours

Motorists traveling westbound on I-80 will need to take I-780 to State Route 29 (Sonoma Boulevard) to Magazine Street and back onto the westbound I-80 on-ramp. Motorists traveling eastbound on I-80 will need to take State Route 29 (Sonoma Boulevard) to I-780 to eastbound I-80.

Ongoing Magazine Street Overcrossing Closure

A 24-hour shuttle service is available for pedestrians and bicyclists who need to safely cross Magazine Street Overcrossing. One shuttle stop is located on each side of the bridge. The phone number for the free shuttle service is 415-263-4000.

"The hotline has been set up for the traveling public and residents living in Vallejo to learn about the most up-to-date information about the project," Quintana said.
