Why Go: Celebrate artist of the month Pat Ryll, a watercolorist.

Where/When: Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton; Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Why Go: The largest county fair in the area has tons of entertainment for children and adults, such as music, carnival rides, all kinds of food, a petting zoo and much more.

Pricing: Kids 12 and under free on Fridays; otherwise between $4-$10 admission

Where/When: , 200 Centennial Dr., Berkeley; Friday, 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Experience the unique wines of the Canary Islands. Take a special expert-led tour of the garden's Mediterranean Area, highlighting the collection of plants from the Canary Islands, followed by a special wine tasting in the Garden of Old Roses.

Pricing: $30/$25 members

Where/When: Main Street, Martinez; Friday 6 p.m.—8 p.m.

Why Go: Every Friday during the summer, Main Street in Martinez comes alive with motorcycles, hot rods, classic cars and custom trucks in a weekend celebration. There is live music, a raffle, and famlily fun. All makes and models welcome -- no entry fee to show off your stuff.
