Gold Rush Medicine Event at the Benicia State Capitol

The Benicia Capitol will be holding a “Gold Rush Medicine Event.
How did those early Californians—the mountain men and gold miners but also woman and children—manage their health?
Well, you can find out on Saturday, January 23 at the Benicia Capitol from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. That’s when State Park Docent, Diana King will be presenting “Medicine in California During the Gold Rush Era.” Diana has provided historical medicine information at Sutter’s Fort State Park and at numerous Mountain Men reenactments around the State. So, if you want to be cured—stop by the Benicia Capitol at 115 West G Street and learn how the ole Sour doughs got along.
State Park Admission: $3 (Free to State Park docents)
