Good News On #SkyFire: Containment At 60% Tuesday Morning

The 150-acre Sky Fire northwest of Vacaville is 60 percent contained this morning, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said. Personnel at the fire near Mix Canyon Road and Sky Ranch Lane has been reduced to 200 from 275 on Monday, Cal Fire fire prevention specialist Suzie Blankenship said.

There is no air attack on the fire this morning, Blankenship said. There have been no injuries, no structures are currently threatened and voluntary evacuations are still in effect. Mix Canyon Road is still closed, Blankenship said.

The fire appears to have started around 10:45 a.m. Monday when a vehicle caught fire, but the cause of the vehicle fire is under investigation, Blankenship said.

Firefighters from Vacaville, the Vacaville Fire Prevention District, Dixon, and Suisun City also responded to the fire.
