Grand Opening for Downtown Benicia Wine Bar

With a month in business under his belt the kinks have been worked out of the system and owner Jason Diavitis is ready for a grand opening.

After a month in business, The Loft, a new wine bar at 280 First Street in downtown Benicia is ready for its grand happening this weekend, October 13-14.

“Our soft opening has been a huge success,” said owner Jason Diavatis.  “Lots of return customers are bringing new people with them.

Saturday night will feature Chef Patrick Robertson from Pappas Restaurant who will create a variety of “amuse bouche” (pronounced: ahmooz boosh) to be paired with wine flights.

Chef Patrick will set up in the main bar and will cook exhibition style so patrons can watch his technique.

The wine served at the Loft is not easily found in the wine section at your local grocery store.  “Part of our mission here is to carry unique wines- varieties everyone has heard of- from small boutique wineries or wines that can only be purchased at the winery,” said Diavitis.
