JV Baseball Wins at Raley Field Debut

The team started slow but rallied for a big win.

For most of the Benicia High Junior Varsity baseball team, Wednesday's game at Raley Field in West Sacramento was the first time they've gotten to play on a pro field.  They made the most of it with a 11 - 1 victory over the Casa Roble Rams.

Coach Cliff Nelson was guarded in his assessment of the game. "We came out flat," he said. "There's a lot of talent on this team, but we need to play smart."

"We're still trying to figure out all the pieces right now," he said. "I think they'll come around and we have some strong pitching."

The star of Wednesday's game was Lane, who had two doubles and a triple.
