Kaiser Permanente Marks National Cancer Survivors Day
June 7 is dedicated to cancer survivors nationwide

Kaiser Permanente’s Vallejo Medical Center will mark National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 7 with their 2nd Annual Celebrate Life event -- a day of learning, wellness and living after cancer.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kaiser Permanente’s Vallejo Medical Center, 975 Sereno Drive, in Vallejo.
The public is invited to hear Kaiser Permanente specialists discuss the latest advancements in cancer treatments and research, as well as the mind/body connection to surviving and thriving after cancer. Attendees can participate in a lunch-time Q&A session with physician specialists who will answer questions about some of the most common forms of cancer, including breast, colon, lung, prostate and skin cancer.

The featured topics and speakers include:
- Welcome and motivational message from Dr. Steven Stricker, physician in chief for Kaiser Permanente in the Napa-Solano area.
- An update on the latest advancements in cancer treatment and research by Dr. Tatjana Kolevska, chief of Oncology at Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center.
- The psychology of thriving as a survivor by Brenda Knight, an award-winning and dynamic speaker whose life experience caring for friends with cancer gives her a unique perspective to share with the audience.
- Practical tips on diet, exercise and wellness so you can thrive after cancer, by Dr. Thach-Giao Truong and Dr. James Chang, oncologists at Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center.
The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
