Man, 19, Stopped, Arrested Near North Concord BART Station For Attempted Murder
The arrest warrant stems from a May incident. The suspect caught citizens' attention when he appeared to be breaking into a car.

Concord police arrested an Antioch man Monday morning on a warrant for attempted murder after witnesses suspected he was breaking into cars near the North Concord BART station, a police spokesman said.
Officers responded at 11:23 a.m. Monday to a report of a possible vehicle burglary in the area of Panoramic Drive and Port Chicago Highway, near the North Concord BART station, Concord police Cpl. Christopher Blakely said. BART police contacted the man, identified by officers as 19-year-old Dean Serva, who was trying to push in the window of a BMW and was detained before Concord police arrived, Blakely said.
Officers determined Serva’s uncle let him borrow the car and he was not trying to burglarize the vehicle, but Blakely said the officers also discovered that Serva had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Officers arrested Serva on the warrant, issued May 27, for attempted murder, willful discharge of a firearm and conspiracy, Blakely said.
Antioch police Sgt. Tom Fuhrmann said Serva was the last of three suspects to be apprehended by police following a May 25 incident at a party in the 5100 block of Rodeo Court.

One of the suspects, identified by police as 19-year-old Antioch resident Francisco Vasquez, went to a house where his ex-girlfriend was attending a party, Fuhrmann said. Vasquez had a conversation with her and then left the residence, but he returned an hour later with two friends, identified by police as Serva and 19-year-old Antioch resident Pedro Santos.
The trio walked into the backyard, where they started creating a commotion. One of the three men then pulled out a rifle and shot several bullets into the air and one into the house, Fuhrmann said.
The three men ran away from the house and warrants were issued for their arrest, he said.
Hercules police arrested Vasquez on May 28 and Fuhrmann said Antioch police brought Santos into custody on June 2.
