VALLEJO, CA — Following a months-long investigation, a Vallejo man was arrested Wednesday in connection with multiple reports of a man flashing his genitals in public places throughout the city, police said. The first indecent exposure incident the suspect — later identified as Andres Gutierrez, 33, of Vallejo — is accused in was reported in February, according to Vallejo police Lt. Fabio Rodriguez.

On Feb. 28, a caller reported that a woman was in the ferry terminal parking lot when a male suspect pulled up next to her in a car and asked her a question, then exposed his genitals to her, Lt. Rodriguez said Thursday in a news release.

Over the next few months, the Vallejo Police Department received several reports of a similar nature and similar suspect description with multiple victims, Rodriguez said.

The suspect focused his crimes in the downtown area, including at the ferry terminal, the City Hall parking lot, the 200 block of Georgia Street, and the intersection of Virginia and Marin streets, police said.

Following a thorough investigation, Vallejo police detectives identified Gutierrez as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest, Rodriguez said.

Wednesday morning, officers arrested Gutierrez without incident near the intersection of Marin and Louisiana streets.

Gutierrez was booked into Solano County jail on suspicion of four counts of indecent exposure and the arrest warrant for the same, the lieutenant said.

"The Vallejo Police Department appreciates the help the public provided in this case," Rodriguez said.
