Man Arrested after Police Chase from Vallejo, Along I-80 to Rodeo

The 32-year-old suspect faces evasion, DUI and assault on officer charges after hitting a patrol car. [BREAKING]

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A San Francisco man was arrested Tuesday following a police pursuit that started in Vallejo and ended in Rodeo, police said.

Jason Lawrence, 32, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, felony evading and assault on an officer, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

Officers responded at 9:35 p.m. to the 900 block of Fifth Street in Vallejo on a report that a man had been involved in an argument with a woman and was taking her vehicle.

As officers arrived at the scene, the man, later identified as Lawrence, was fleeing the area in the vehicle and collided with a police vehicle, police said.

The driver then led police on a pursuit onto Interstate Highway 80 and into Rodeo in Contra Costa County.

Police used a pit maneuver to end the pursuit in the area of San Pablo Avenue and California Street in Rodeo, and Lawrence was taken into custody.

There were no reported injuries during the incident.
