Man Arrested On Multiple Charges After Disturbance Near Vacaville

The 35 year old was Tasered after reportedly threatening Solano Co. deputies with a hammer.

Deputies arrested a 35-year-old man Friday on four offenses after a family disturbance at a home in unincorporated Solano County, sheriff’s officials said.

The sheriff’s office received a call from the man’s mother shortly before 8 a.m. from her home in the 7400 block of Locke Road, sheriff’s officials said. The woman said her son, Jacob Harris, 35, was allegedly causing a disturbance in the home and she said he threatened to fight deputies if they responded, according to sheriff’s officials.

Arriving deputies allegedly found Harris leaving the home with a hammer raised at shoulder level in a threatening manner, sheriff officials said.

Deputies repeatedly told Harris to let go of the hammer but he allegedly refused, according to sheriff’s officials. After a few more seconds he dropped the hammer and challenged deputies to a fight, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies said he allegedly refused to get on the ground, continuing to challenge deputies, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said they were able to arrest Harris after using a Taser.

They said they found a stolen box truck nearby. Someone reported the truck stolen to the West Sacramento Police Department earlier Friday morning, sheriff’s officials said. Harris allegedly had the keys to the truck, deputies said.

Sheriff’s officials said they arrested Harris on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, exhibiting a deadly weapon and resisting a peace officer.
