Man Arrested In Shooting Death Of Suisun City Man, 20

Vallejo police on Monday arrested one of two suspects in a shooting that left one man dead and another seriously injured last November, a police lieutenant said.

The shooting occurred near a Valero gas station at 501 Fairgrounds Drive around 1:10 p.m. on Nov. 25.

Byron Jason Smith, 20, of Suisun City, was found inside a nearby restaurant and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Andrew Jones, 23, of Sacramento, was found inside a vehicle and was taken to a hospital but has been released and has serious life-altering injuries, Lt. Joe Iacono said.

On Monday, Vallejo police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Fredrick Lewis, 21, at his residence in the 1200 block of Quail Drive in Fairfield, Iacono said.

The identity of the second suspect in the shooting is still under investigation, Iacono said.
