Man Fatally Shot in Vallejo ID'd as John Taylor

Vallejo police on Thursday identified a man who was fatally shot last month as John Taylor, 35, who had residences in Solano and Sacramento counties.

Detective Mat Meredith said Taylor’s body was found outside a residence in the 700 block of Sixth Street after officers responded there around 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 20.

Taylor’s name was released Wednesday.

Meredith said the Solano County coroner’s office had to confirm the shooting was a homicide and notify Taylor’s next of kin before his identity was released.
