Man Suspected Of Robbing Woman At Benicia ATM Arrested: Police

The arrest of a Contra Costa County man followed a month-long investigation, Benicia police said.

BENICIA, CA — An arrest was made Tuesday in the January robbery of a woman at a Benicia ATM, police said. Following a month-long investigation, Benicia detectives arrested Ricky Torres, 60, of Bay Point on suspicion of robbing a woman Jan. 28 while she was at a Bank of America ATM in the Southampton Shopping Center, police said.

"Fortunately she wasn’t injured, though was shaken up," Benicia police said in a statement posted to social media.

After identifying Torres as the suspect, detectives secured a $750,000 warrant for his arrest in connection with the robbery.

The warrant was served Tuesday afternoon without incident, police said.

"One of our pillars is the relentless pursuit of justice and we are proud of our officers for their hard work," Benicia police said.
