Marshview Fire Burning In Solano County

The wildfire has burned 183 acres south of Cordelia, according to Cal Fire.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A grass fire south of Cordelia in Solano County has burned 183 acres but was 80-percent contained Thursday morning, according to Cal Fire. The Marshview Fire broke out at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday in grassy oak woodlands in the area of Interstate Highway 680 and Marshview Road, according to Will Powers with Cal Fire's Sonoma -Lake-Napa Unit.

No homes have been damaged or destroyed and no evacuations have been ordered.

"Forward progress has been stopped and fire crews will continue to construct containment lines and put out hot spots throughtout the day and into the evening hours," Powers said.

Lopes Road is closed but I-680 is not affected by the wildfire, Powers said.

More than 110 firefighting personnel are assigned to the wildland blaze. Cooperating agencies include the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Highway Patrol, Benicia Fire Department, City of Vacaville Fire Department, City of Fairfield Fire Department, Rio Vista Fire Department and Vallejo Fire Department.
