Memoir Writing/Family History Workshop

Lois Requist, former Benicia poet laureate and published author, is presenting a Memoir Writing/Family History Workshop starting August, 8, 2015, from 10 AM to Noon for six Saturdays (skipping Labor Day weekend) at Carter’s Biz Café, Commander’s Quarters, 1 Commandant Lane, Benicia, in the beautiful and historic arsenal district.

“This workshop has particular value to older adults who have so much to reflect on and share”, says Judie Donaldson, cochair of the Carquinez Village Project. Come join us and learn to share your stories with support and encouragement in a participatory environment.

Time in each class will be spent in sharing and listening. We’ll look at examples of well-written memoirs, talk about structure, character and plot development and how to introduce suspense or surprise.

This event is cosponsored by Benicia Literary Arts and the Carquinez Village Project.
