Motorist Shot To Death In Pittsburg On Highway 4
The California Highway Patrol reported that a motorist was shot to death while driving on state Highway 4 in Pittsburg on Tuesday night.

PITTSBURG - In the latest in a series of shootings on East Bay highways, the California Highway Patrol reported that a motorist was shot to death while driving on state Highway 4 in Pittsburg on Tuesday night.
The CHP began receiving calls about a crash on the highway's westbound side near Loveridge Road at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday and responding officers discovered that a motorist had been shot multiple times.
The driver's vehicle, a bullet hole-riddled Chevrolet Impala, left the highway, crashed through a fence and then came to rest near Loveridge Road and California Avenue, according to the CHP.

The driver, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said.
CHP officials said the shooting is believed to be a targeted incident, which has been said to be the case in the 18 or more shootings on East Bay highways that have occurred since November.

The shooting is still being investigated and no further details have been provided.
