Mulch Fire Burns Near Benicia

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Firefighters remained at the scene of a mulch fire that began early Monday morning just outside of Benicia, a Cordelia Fire Protection District firefighter said late Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. near CCL Organics at 1460 Goodyear Road and firefighters are anticipating the fire will extinguish itself.

Benicia police reported traffic delays on Interstate Highway 680 and said Goodyear Road is expected to be closed until Wednesday.
