My favorite smoothies and juice recipes

Sweet, everyone loves recipes, right? I don’t necessarily need a recipe, or ever follow one. I pretty much know what to do with a recipe when I see it. I first get rid of the dairy and gluten and see if it still stands to be delicious. I also don’t need artificial or refined sweeteners in my diet. I do like a sweet flavor, but try to get it from natural sources. Unless you have a specific reason for not using fruit, I wouldn’t be afraid of enjoying it. That being said, fruit with fiber is what your body wants, not fruit without the fiber, so when juicing, use enough to sweeten the drink but no more for maximum health benefits. When making smoothies, the fiber is intact. Here are some recipes for some great drinks.

The first one is my favorite smoothie:

Start with organic berries, 1 cup.

1 tblsp freshly ground chia seeds

3-5 cacao beans or 1 tblsp. raw cacao powder

Sprinkle of stevia, cayenne pepper, vanilla powder and sea salt (all are optional)

1/2 scoop vega protein powder, vanilla flavor (optional)

Maca (for hormone balance and malty taste)

1 tablespoon peanut butter.

Green Smoothie:

Fennel

Celery

Cucumber

1 Kiwi

Lemon or lime (just use ¼, no need to peel)

Touch of stevia,

Small handful of greens.

Green juice:

beets or carrots

lemon

celery

greens

cucumbers

 fennel

I hope you enjoy these ‘recipes’ for smoothies and juice. I use a nutri-bullet for my smoothies, it’s the best $110 I have ever spent (approximately). I find it more convenient than the popular high-speed blender that I own. Regarding a juicer, different brands have different strengths. Do your research before investing.
