NorCal Theft Ring Hits AT&T Stores In Solano, 4 Other Counties

AT&T has released surveillance images of the suspects and is offering a $5,000 reward for info leading to their arrest and conviction.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — AT&T is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a group of suspects responsible for thefts from a half-dozen Northern California AT&T stores, company representatives said Thursday. The thefts started in April and stores in Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Solano counties have been hit, according to AT&T.

In each instance, two to four young men enter the store with hooded sweatshirts partially concealing their faces and grab high-end demo devices — sometimes 15 to 20 a time – before fleeing, company representatives said.

Eric Goldfeld, AT&T vice president and general manager for Northern California, said that while the financial loss has been significant, the most important thing is that no employees or customers have been hurt in the incidents to date.

AT&T shared surveillance images of the suspects with Patch, and AT&T is asking anyone with information about the suspects or the thefts to call 800-807-4205.
