The victim had to be hospitalized for his injuries.

A transient man out of Oakley is expected to enter a plea today for attempted murder charges after he allegedly got into a fight and injured a man in Antioch, according to police.

Etuate Faiva, 27, was arrested on May 4 in the 100 block of Cataline Avenue, Lt. Trevor Schnitzius said.

Police responded on March 21 around 7:40 p.m. to the hospital, where a 49-year-old man had been dropped off following a fight.

Schnitzius said he could not elaborate on the victim’s injuries or current condition but said the man had been admitted back to the hospital at some point following his initial injury.

Faiva is scheduled to be arraigned today in superior court in Martinez. He’s had some prior contact with police, including arrests in 2013 and 2014 for auto theft and narcotics, Schnitzius said.
