One-Way Traffic Control at Scene of Big Rig Fire on Hwy 37

Officers advising commuters to use state Highway 29 as an alternate route to and from Napa.

The California Highway Patrol has issued a Sig-alert for state Highway 37 in Vallejo due to a big rig fire that temporarily blocked the roadway in both directions. Officers have established one-way traffic control in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

They’re advising commuters to use state Highway 29 as an alternate route to and from Napa. The crash was reported at 6:47 a.m. on westbound Highway 37 near the West Wilson Avenue off-ramp. A Sig-alert was issued at 7:09 a.m.

A big rig hauling a load of hay was involved in a collision with an unknown number of other vehicles, causing the big rig and the hay to catch fire, according to the CHP.
