Pedestrian Struck, Killed On I-80 In Vallejo: CHP
BREAKING: CHP said dispatchers began receiving reports at 3:55 a.m. Friday of a pedestrian in the center divider.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A pedestrian was struck and killed early Friday on Interstate 80 in Vallejo. The California Highway Patrol reports that dispatchers began receiving calls at 3:55 a.m. about a pedestrian being in the center divider on eastbound I-80 west of Georgia Street. Upon CHP's arrival, officers found the pedestrian struck and lying injured on the freeway west of the Benicia Road overcrossing, officials said.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man from Richmond, deceased.
For unknown reasons, the man -- whose identity was not released Friday morning -- had walked into the lanes of traffic and was hit by a GMC Sierra pickup truck in the number two lane, CHP officials said.

The GMC driver, who called 911 to report the collision, was not injured, nor were any of the other involved parties, according to the CHP.
