PHOTO SHOW: Best Of Benicia Waterfront Festival
And if you missed it today, it continues on Sunday ...
From Al Francis:
With sunshine, a breeze, fun music and a variety of food and a kids’ play area, the Benicia Waterfront Festival drew large crowds on Saturday and will continue on Sunday.
There were lines all day to purchase tickets for the popular event held at the end of First Street in downtown Benicia, along the grassy area along the banks of the Carquinez Strait.

No matter that the grass was more brown than green given the drought.
There was plenty of fun music with “Fog City Swampers” starting the party, followed by Mustache Harbor, who all dressed in nautical attire and started their set with “Fly Like The Wind.” They also broke out “Footloose,” which got some of the crowd to get up and dance.

“In Living Cover” provided the music late in the day on Saturday.
Sunday’s musical menu will begin at 11:30 a.m. with “House of Floyd,” a Pink Floyd-tribute band -- which could be interesting especially that early in the day.
Another great set will follow by “The Cheeseballs,” a funk, rock, disco and hip-hop group at 1:30 p.m. “Tortilla Soup” will close out the festival and bringing Latin funk and old school hits to the stage.
Tickets are available at the gate and more information can be found at www.beniciamainstreet.org
