Public Comment Before Closed Session Supports Benicia High Principal

About a dozen people show up at Benicia School Board special meeting.

The trustees of the met Tuesday evening to discuss a personnel matter in closed session. Before the closed session began the board heard public comment.

Six people took the opportunity to address the trustees and each spoke of their great hope that would continue as the principal of Benicia High School.

Last week Jill Ray, a parent with three children at the high school started a Facebook group dedicated to keeping Jensen on at the High School.

Kathy Myers, the high school PTSA said of Jensen, “He tries to do what’s right and not what’s popular.”

The district won’t comment on Jensen’s job security.  The Vallejo Times-Herald reports that Jensen has the support of a number of teachers as well as the people who showed up Tuesday evening.

“I can’t stress enough how dedicated this principal is and what an asset he is to this district,” said Denise Hasler, the parent of a high school student.
