Runners Descend on Downtown to Raise Money for Schools
The Benicia Education Foundation's Run for Education was a big success for schools.
Over 1,100 runners and walkers participated in the 5th Annual Run for Education that took place Sunday morning, starting and ending at the Marina Green in downtown Benicia.
The final tally won’t be in for a few day however, Teresa Zabrek, the Benicia Education Foundation’s point person for the run said about $45,000 was raised. The proceeds from the event will support libraries and technology programs at all Benicia Unified School District campuses.
