Social Media 101 - Advocating Change & Connecting Generations
Social media tools spread information about your issue or cause and share items that ask folks to take action.

The Benicia-Vallejo Branch of the American Association of University Women and the League of Women Voters Benicia, will co-host a free program, “Social Media 101 – Advocating Change and Connecting Generations,” to be held at 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12 at the Vallejo Campus of Solano Community College, 545 Columbus Parkway, Room 129, Vallejo. Free parking provided.
In today’s increasingly online world, it is hard to ignore social media – sometimes it is the fastest way to stay connected to your relatives, your friends and your community.
Members of the Babyboomer, Gen X, Gen Y and Millennial generations are all invited to attend – they are encouraged to bring a person from a different generation with them. The session is free, however, seating is limited. Interested attendees are asked to call Suzanne Antone at 707-748-7832 to register.

The program will offer an engaging session. Presenters will share several tips for how to stay current about issues of the day. The session will focus on two significant tools: Facebook and Twitter. Participants will be able to access both applications and answer questions in small groups to improve their skills.
