Solano County High School Honor Band
Benicia High School Musicians Participate in 58th Annual Solano County Honor Band

Thirty-eight students from Benicia High School were selected for the 58th Solano County High School Honor Band January 6th – 10th. The honor band was led by guest conductor, Diane Maltester, a music faculty member at the Los Medanos College and a clarinet instructor for St. Mary’s College and California State University East Bay.
Rehearsing over a three day period, the band concluded with a concert on Sunday at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater. Four works and one encore number were performed. Solano County high schools participating included Armijo, Dixon, Rodriguez, Vacaville, Vanden, Will C. Wood, Fairfield, Vacaville Christian, Vallejo, and Benicia.
Of all the participating high schools, Benicia High School had the highest student representation in the 95 member honor band. Selection for participation in the band was by audition.
