Solano Public Health offers the following considerations to help protect individuals, families and communities from COVID-19. In general, the more closely you interact with others and the longer that interaction, the higher the risk of COVID-19 spread. Remember the safety protocols – wear a mask, watch your distance and wash your hands.

Locally, Trick-or-Treaters are reminded that if the porch light is off, please do not ring the bell at that home. They are not participating this year.

Benicia Public Library has fun offerings for Halloween:
Jack-o'-Lantern Contest: online in 2020!
The basics will be the same: you can vote on your favorite jack-o'-lanterns, judges will choose their picks (scariest, most creative, judges' wild card), they'll announce the winners and have storytimes for different age groups.
Photos of your jack-o'-lantern (photographed with the entry form clearly visible) will be due by 3 p.m. on Monday, October 26. Everyone will be able to vote on their favorites between the night of the 26 and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28.
On the 28th, they'll have a series of live events:
- 6:30 Stories that aren't scary at all (best for preschoolers)
- 7:00 Stories for school-aged kids
- 7:30 We'll announce the winners of the contest
- 8:00 Stories that are for teens and adults - expect these to be scary or creepy!
